Acne

Acne happens when sebaceous oil glands attached to the hair follicles are stimulated at the time of puberty by elevated levels of male hormones. Sebum oil is a natural substance which lubricates and protects the skin.but these increased oil production is a change in the manner in which the skin cells mature so that they are predisposed to clog the follicular or pores. The hair follicle gradually enlarges, producing a bump. In eastern medicine, acne is caused “heat” of Lung meridian and ʻheat with dampness” of stomach meridian. If a patient eats too much spicy, fried or sweet foods then dampness or undigested metabolites are created and transform into heat. Th treatment principle here is not only to receive the skin therapy but also to release internal heat and make active blood circulation with Sa-am acupuncture technique and herbal medicine.
